Behind the Book
Charles R. Anderson, Ph.D. (United States)
Dr. Charles Anderson is a materials physicist with a 38-year career in the use of radiation to characterize and analyze the properties of materials. He especially enjoys the use of multi-discipline techniques to solve complex materials problems quickly and efficiently. He has worked as a laboratory scientist for the Dept. of the Navy, Lockheed Martin Laboratories, and has owned and operated Anderson Materials Evaluation, Inc. since 1995. He has an Sc.B. in Physics from Brown University and his Ph.D. was earned at Case Western Reserve University studying the surface magnetization of nickel single crystals using Mössbauer spectroscopy and Auger electron spectroscopy
The analysis of surfaces and bulk material properties has been a major component of his work since, using such techniques as x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, infra-red spectroscopy, x-ray dispersive spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and light microscopy. He has published 29 scientific articles and written thousands of technical reports for his commercial customers. In 2000 he became interested in the claims that man’s emissions of carbon dioxide would cause catastrophic damage to the climate and quickly became skeptical. He has written about the many problems with that hypothesis frequently on his blog since.
Timothy Ball PhD (Canada)
Professor Timothy Ball is a renowned environmental consultant and former [retired] professor of climatology at the University of Winnipeg. Dr. Ball has served on many local and national committees and as Chair of Provincial boards on water management, environmental issues and sustainable development. Dr. Ball has given over 600 public talks over the last decade on science and the environment.
Dr Ball came to the fore after his appearance in the sensational British Channel 4 documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle. Tim has an extensive science background in climatology, especially the reconstruction of past climates and the impact of climate change on human history and the human condition with additional experience in water resources and areas of sustainable development, pollution prevention, environmental regulations, the impact of government policy on business and economics.
Martin Hertzberg PhD (United States)
Dr. Martin Hertzberg is a long time climate writer, a former U. S. Naval meteorologist with a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Stanford and holder of a Fulbright Professorship. Hertzberg is an internationally recognized expert on combustion, flames, explosions, and fire research with over 100 publications in those areas.
Martin established and supervised the explosion testing laboratory at the U. S. Bureau of Mines facility in Pittsburgh (now NIOSH). Test equipment developed in that laboratory has been widely replicated and incorporated into ASTM standards. Published test results from that laboratory are used for the hazard evaluation of industrial dusts and gases. While with the Federal Government he served as a consultant for several Government Agencies (MSHA, DOE, NAS) and professional groups (such as EPRI). He is the author of two US patents: 1) Submicron Particulate Detectors, and 2) Multi-channel Infrared Pyrometers.
Claes Johnson PhD (Sweden)
Dr. Claes Johnson is Professor of Applied Mathematics, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, on ISIHighlyCited, and has quickly established himself among the vanguard of international commentators with his highly-respected blog, Claes Johnson on Mathematics and Science, based on a long career with ground-breaking research in computational fluid dynamics including Computational Turbulent Incompressible Flow (Springer 08) and The Mathematical Secret of Flight, as well as mathematics education reform in BodyandSoul Mathematical Simulation Technology and popular science in My Book of Knols.
Oliver Manuel (United States)
Emeritus Professor Oliver K. Manuel is a renowned nuclear and space scientist with over 100 refereed publications in leading research journals [Science, Nature, Physical Review, Proceedings of Lunar Science Conferences, Journal of Geophysical Research, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, etc.] and papers presented at science conferences world-wide, including the United States, old USSR, Canada, Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Russia, Portugal, Switzerland, and Wales.
Professor Manuel is best known for reporting the decay products of extinct 129I and 244Pu in the Earth [Science 134 (1971) 1334], isotopic anomalies from element synthesis in meteorites [Nature 240 (1972) 99], supernova birth of the Solar System [Science 195 (1977) 208; Nature (1979) 615], mass-fractionation in the Sun [Meteoritics 18 (1983) 209], “strange xenon” in Jupiter [Meteoritics 33 (1998) A97, 5011], neutron repulsion as a source of nuclear energy [Journal of Fusion Energy 19 (2001) 93], and the Sun’s dominant influence on Earth’s changing climate [Energy & Environment 20 (2009) 131]. Joseph A. Olson (United States)
Retired Texan engineer and science writer, Joe Olson PE is an internationally respected science writer with over 100 major climate-related articles to his name.
Hans Schreuder (Holland)
Retired analytical chemist and technical contractor Hans Schreuder has long been a staunch and highly regarded critic of the greenhouse gas theory and a leading commentator, using his website as a publishing hub for fellow scientists critical of the theory.
Hans also co-authored the groundbreaking paper, ‘A Greenhouse Effect on the Moon?’ with Alan Siddons and Dr. Martin Hertzberg. He is also a member of Mensa.
John O’Sullivan (United Kingdom & United States)
Legal analyst and specialist writer on anti-corruption, John O’Sullivan is the coordinator of these exciting new books and will take the reader on a tour through the maze of confusion surrounding almost all aspects of climate alarm. John is an accredited academic who taught and lectured for over twenty years at schools and colleges in the east of England as well as successfully litigating for over a decade in the New York State courts and U.S. federal 2nd circuit.
O’Sullivan is currently the internet’s most read writer on the greenhouse gas theory (August, 2010) and boasts over 100 major international science articles. In the U.S. his work features in the National Review, America’s most popular and influential magazine for Republican/conservative news, commentary and opinion. Among other internationally esteemed publications he has appeared in both China Daily, the Number One English portal in China, as well as India Times, the prime source of business news in India.
As a direct consequence of controversial revelations in his ‘Satellite-gate’ article the U.S. Government swiftly removed a degraded orbital space satellite from service. (see also here and here)
A leading climate researcher and science writer is compiling a chapter on the myriad of errors that have been and still are underwritten by climate alarmists and realists alike. With clear examples and common sense this author will illustrate where and why it all went wrong when the climate alarm bells started ringing.
